This is Mr. Arrasmith’s third year teaching at New West Charter. Mr. Arrasmith was born and raised in Los Angeles and has chosen to stay in the city of Angels throughout his life.
At a very young age Mr. Arrasmith excelled in sports and was fortunate to earn a baseball scholarship to UCLA where he majored in History. Sports continue to play a large role in Mr. Arrasmith’s life. He has almost a decade of experience coaching baseball and football at the high school level and believes that his experiences in athletics throughout his life have had a tremendous impact on the man he is today. After a career ending injury he decided to pursue a career in Finance as a Commodities trader. After 10 years in the financial arena he made the decision to follow in the footsteps of his parents, both of whom are educators, and return to school. After earning his teaching credential in Social Studies in 2009 and a Master’s degree in “Best Practices in 21st Century Education” in 2011 he has taught U.S. History, World History, AP Economics and Government at the high school level and is long forward to joining the amazing team at New West. In his free time Mr. Arrasmith enjoys playing with his two dogs, Scully and Buttercup. He also likes spending time outdoors especially at his family farm in Ventura California where they have an olive orchard and make olive oil. |
